"Lying in bed, the windows began groaning. At first I thought it was a strong wind. The moment continued, and it became immediately clear to me that it was an earthquake. The walls made sounds distinct from any construction or wind noise. I could hear various glassware and miscellaneous things rattling in their places on the shelves. I vibrated in place, noticeably, but not alarmingly so. As it didn't resolve itself immediately, I got concerned about the integrity of the house, whether the surrounding infrastructure could endure, but the vibrations didn't intensify. My family started shouting and we walked around as everything shook a little, and then it was over. In the aftermath we are okay and unharmed, only two cake stands as casualties. They had fallen from the top shelf and hit the counter on the way to the floor, but mostly everything else remained generally in place."
