We were about 80 miles north on the coast, I first felt gentle and then slightly stronger rocking, slight pause, and then the about the same slightly stronger and then even just a little stronger...at this point the event had been going on for up to a minute, My husband and I got up and went to a doorway, and it was over. Here at 80 miles away I guessed the stregnth to feel <4, maybe 3.6?, 3.8?, but now we know.

I heard it first. I am very sensitive to sounds and shakings and vibrations. I have sensed and felt many earthquakes from great distances. It just felt like the crust was grinding.
