Staying in a two storey house about 70km from epicentre. Was in bed at 5am and felt swaying for about 10 seconds. This was apparently a seperate quake north of Tokyo. Then about 5.20am the whole house shook for about a minute. Low frequency juddering, like when an aircraft has a hard landing. Felt like an elephant was headbutting the walls.

Building shook for a number of seconds, although quite minor it was enough to instill mild panic and concern for a moment. Did contemplate running naked to the streets but didn't want to upset the locals.  No alarms sounded in this building so I expect insignificant.

We were walking through a tunnel when the earthquake happened. While it wasn't hard to stand, the tunnel was shaking visibly. It looked scary.

On the 9th floor it got me somewhat nervous. I considered leaving the building afterwards, but am back in bed already : )

No shaking, just a gentle roll doors began to swing.

I woke seconds before the earthquake hit. The house started to sway gently, it felt like we were moving 10-15cm side to side. After about 10 seconds it started to intensify, the windows began to rattle etc.
I think it was right on the borderline of being comfortable and starting to think this one might get serious.
