Witness location : Neo Klima (Greece) (5 km SW from epicenter)
Time : T0+ 256 min
I had just parked the car near the beach and was about to get out (my door was open) when I heard a rumbling noise increasing in intensity. Before I could say anything to my girlfriend the ground shook noticeably with an up and down motion. I got out of the car and the same thing happened again: first the noise, then the shaking, this time with less intensity. And then we heard and felt a third shock. I wasn't afraid but was impressed to say the least. I have read many times about noise during earthquakes but now I heard it really well for the first time. It was pronounced and heavy like a distant explosion or a passing freight train. And now I was outside and there were no buildings or other man-made structures nearby - only a beach and a few trees.
