On vacation. Heard and felt it. Thought it could have been a large helicopter above-it was a similar noise and feel. Much stronger shaking though. Scary.

I heard it more than I felt it. Being on the beach, I thought it might be a large cruise ship... then maybe a low flying helicopter. The often cited sound of an approaching train would also be accurate. The sound seemed to approach from the NW then "rolled" across the roof and I felt some shaking of the walls and ceiling. This lasted for five to ten seconds. My wife slept through it. I woke her up so we could either go outside or stand in doorway.

The wall behind the bed rumbled and it was like a banging. We didn't tell the kids anything as to not to scare them but my wife and I looked at each other and confirmed that it was an earthquake. Scary for sure.
