I had just fallen asleep, I woke up because my whole house was shaking and my nightstand and things on it were shaking! I don't know how long it lasted because I had just fallen asleep but I experienced it for let's say 8 to 10 seconds, and began to wonder if I was safe or not.  Interestingly enough I felt kind of nervous right before I fell asleep, and my dog was really antsy during the evening.  I happened to be in Mexico City in 1986 when the " killer quake "happened, and since then several times in Greece where I lived for nine years, so I'm used to feeling them.  However I have never expected to feel this strong in Sedona! Ii immediately reached for my phone and wanted to find out if that was a registered earthquake somewhere and where the epicenter could be. I'm shocked by how strong it felt and that it literally woke me up! Before major earthquakes in the past I would feel a little queasy, have a stomachache or headache and actually a few hours ago I out of the blue didn't feel so good and I didn't go shopping as I planned to. Coincidence? Maybe. Anyway I will try to go back to sleep again and hope that the aftershock isn't too strong.

It was strong enough to wake up all of my daughters and my hubby. It shook their beds. The walls swayed and rumbled. I felt the ground moving. I heard the ceiling from the apartment above me creaking and cracking; the whole building was swaying and rumbling.

This was definitely frightening for us. We have never felt an earthquakebefore. The whole building was swaying and shaking and rumbling. We are on the bottom floor of a three-story apartment and the ceiling above was creaking and cracking. The ground was moving; furniture was shaking. It woke up all of my children. It was loud. And it was a bit frightening.It's nothing I ever hope to experience again. This was the second time in the past few weeks. I'm 35 years old. I went my entire life without feeling earthquake, and now I have felt two in the past couple of weeks. Yikes.

My girlfriend and I felt the shaking and she thought someone had ran into our apartment with a car. I tested a friend of mine who works at the local hospital, and she said that everyone thought a helicopter had crashed into the emergency room because of how strong it was.

I was laying in bed when suddenly my 9 dogs became restless. I started to get a headache earlier. All of a sudden the house began to shake very strongly and my knicknacks n china was rattling so violently I was waiting for something to fall off.. Our parrot n cockatiels were screeching in a different tone I have never heard before. I would say it lasted about 8 seconds n I estimated a 5-6 magnitude based on my experiences while living in ALaska. The dogs are still restless n my headache is now a migraine just like in Alaska. Our livestock ( horses, sheep, llamas.  Alpacas) were quiet the entire time. I knew immediately it was a quake and our daughter who just had a baby felt it at FMC n said it was so strong it scared her. Waiting for the aftershock now. Lol
