I felt shaking a little stronger than, maybe, an exceptionally heavy truck going by. It lasted longer than a truck would have, without the decrease that would occur if something had been driving past. I felt it must be an earthquake. One of my cats freaked out. I still haven't found him, but I know he's inside somewhere.

We heard the sound first. It sounded like a large truck rumbling toward the house. This was followed quickly by a high frequency agitated shaking that that grew in intensity and then passed quickly. This whole thing lasted about 30 seconds or so. As a native of California, I estimated about 3.7 -- pretty typical of a noticeable West Coast tembler. My wife, and Ohio native, was more alarmed.

We were standing in the checkout line in Walmart's Garden Center in Comstock when the ground started to shake.  I said right away it was an earthquake however some of the people thought it might be a truck in the area.  Next thing we know people waiting with us in line started receiving phone calls from others saying the ground shook there too, confirming it was an earthquake.  Checked the map and sure enough, we had one.

it woke up my 18 year old daughter, freaked out both my cats, My entire bed shook and the things in my house!  I was on the phone with A friend of mine on the other side of town and we both said,' what the hell" at the same time! WE STAYED TALKING ON THE PHONE AND RUNNING AROUND OUR HOUSES WHILE IT SHOOK TRYING TO FIGURE OUT IF THERE WAS AN ACCIDENT OR EXPLOSION OR AN EARTHQUAKE.  we FELT IT STRONG AT FIRST THEN IT STARTED TO LIGHTEN UP AND WE FELT IT FOR ABOUT 30 SECONDS TO 1 MINUTE DEPENDING ON WHERE YOU WERE STANDING.  I HAVE NEVER FELT AN EARTHQUAKE BEFORE! BUT NOTHING FELL OFF OUR SHELVES OR ANYTHING JUST SHOOK LIKE CRAZY!

After growing up in California, being in earthquakes, I knew it was an earthquake immediately.  It was not surface movement as made by a truck going by, or even how thunder will shake.  This was a deep bedding constant shake.  I was so taken back, that after experiencing it for what seemed like 15 seconds, I jumped off the sofa.  The entire house shook, not the full sways I felt in California, but intense constant movement.
