Staying at Bethany Hotel on Lake Kivu. Bed shook well enough to wake me from a sound sleep at 3:25 am... Then after shock about 3 mins later... Quite impressive shaking... Feared the worst, was relieved when all went calm. Thanks be to God!

In the middle of the night felt like my bed was floating from side to side. Very disturbing, only lasted a few seconds but then there was a second tremor. Everything was shaking and felt like the house was made of cardboard. Went outaide where i could hear neighbours. In contact with friends who were at the parking lot of their apartment building. Friend in Bujumbura also felt it. A few minutes later there was a third tremor...this time softer...no perceived damage in the immediate surroundings ...let's see tomorrow morning.

My family was in deep sleep. Local time was about 3:30 am and my wife and I felt this shaking going through our house. We both woke up immediately and stood up for a few minutes and went back to bed. Less than 10 minutes later another minor shaking came. No injuries and damages so far, we thank God for His gracious protection. It's still too early to call others around town to hear from their experiences.

We were asleep around 3:20am when we suddenly awoken by a shaking of the building. It was a vibration that shook some objects and we went outside to see what was happening. It happened two times. From masaka area Kigali, Rwanda.
