It was actually much stronger then most earthquakes I've felt recently. Also, my dog started to bark, which hasn't happened before. Thankfully, it was very short. pictures are crooked all over the house and a couple of things fell off shelves.

Pretty strong I live in alameda housing and my three story shook till I woke up , and nothing wakes me up . Ran to my sons room but he was sleeping thought it all . it was prob 35 seconds long and my dog barked like crazy

It woke me up, that's for sure.  It seems as if every year - - mid-late August, an earthquake rattles this area. I thought it was a 2.9 when it actually was a 4.0. I thought one hit earlier this morning (around 3am), but I'm not certain. It worries me.
