It was incredible, i could hardly walk or stand firm, it was dark and it felt like a rolling from side to side, the more i braced the more i felt the earthquake, i was standing bracing my tv from falling, this is the worst and by far the longest earthquake i have ever experienced in my life, absolutely scared the badeegas out of me, Mana from Hastings Nz 14/11/2016 12:02am onwards, kia kaha southland you are all in my thoughts and prayers.

Rolling quake that has me feeling motion sick. I was on my laptop when I felt as if I was about to pass out (the feeling was similar) Despite the lack of proximity to the actual quake area, wall hangings were shaking, and books on my desk fell over.
