It woke me up. 
I was sleeping in the 12nd floor of my hotel and everything was shaking. 
I live in Austria and this was the first earthquake I have ever felt.

My hausband woke up due to squeaking of the table and desk. I woke up too but unaware if it's the squeaky noise that bothered me or the shaking.  Then we both confirmed it is an earthquake.  As a tourists staying in a big hotel, it is a good idea to know where the stairs are in case we need to evacuate.
