Camping in Talkeetna and outside roasting Marshmelows when it hit. I have lived in Alaska 30 years and have felt a lot of Earthquakes so I knew this Earthquake was going to register around a 6.It started with a hard quick jolt and that was what took us by surprise. It was not one of those that starts slowly and builds up.It hit hard and seemed to last awhile. Even after the original jolt the shaking was still steady and you could feel it for a bit.We guessed that we had to be close to where it originated because it felt so strong.The tourist were all panicked and coming out of their Motorhomes asking if that was just an Earthquake?? LoL...
